New resources give teachers more ways to build calm, learning-focused classrooms

Schools should safeguard student learning amid limited evidence base for AI's use in education

AERO is committed to using evidence to achieve excellence and equity in educational outcomes for First Nations children and young people. Representing First Nations perspectives and leadership is central to our work, shaping the evidence we generate, the advice we provide and the impact we seek across Australia’s education landscape.

Co-designed research project produces new intentional teaching model for Australian early childhood educators

Creating impact explains AERO's role in education, how we contribute to our vision, and how we monitor progress, learn from experience, and remain accountable to governments, educators, and the broader community.

When educators, teachers and leaders tell us what they think, at AERO, we listen. Recently, AERO released a new interactive version of our model of learning and teaching to help time-poor teachers and educators navigate our collection of resources. Its development is one example of how we listen to the people who use our resources in real-life classroom contexts.

A deliberate and structured approach is the key to unlocking lasting change in early childhood education and care settings

AERO releases new resources to help schools put evidence into everyday practice

Why change can be good: supporting the transition into primary school

In this submission, AERO encourages implementing evidence-based practices to support all learners, irrespective of their gender or background, to reach their full potential. This includes providing clear guidance to support adoption of effective practices for all children and young people, paired with early identification and targeted support for students at risk of falling behind in their schooling, and prioritising quality improvement in ECEC.

New AERO course helps teachers align practice with how students learn

Quality assurance (QA) has guided the Australian Education Research Organisation (AERO)’s research projects from the outset. Rather than a single step, QA is applied throughout each project to support clear methods, relevant insights and reliable outputs. A recent project shows what that looks like in practice.
