Blocks and block play have been an integral part of early childhood education since its beginnings. While blocks are no longer as central to early childhood curriculum as they once were, they have the potential to support all kinds of learning.

The 6 practice resources in this series were used in AERO’s 2025 research to develop and test an intentional teaching model and supporting resources. They complement the model, helping early childhood teachers, educators and leaders understand:
