Abstract
Forming a capable and collaborative implementation team is one of the first steps for getting ready to implement an evidence-based teaching practice in your school.
Informed by implementation research as well as the Australian Education Research Organisation (AERO)’s work with schools through the Learning Partner project, this practice resource covers the benefits and core activities of implementation teams. It also provides advice on possible team structures, building team members’ skills in using a deliberate and structured approach to implementation, and knowing when to slow down or renew team membership.
You can use the resource in 2 ways, depending on your stage of implementation:
- during the Explore stage, the resource can support you in establishing a team to lead the implementation of evidence-based teaching practice(s) in your school
- throughout the Prepare, Deliver and Sustain stages, it can support your school implementation team in operating effectively.
This practice resource is part of a set of resources about leading implementation through a school implementation team, including:
- the leading implementation module, which provides an overview of leading implementation through an implementation team
- an implementation team meeting practice guide and template, which helps with planning for and facilitating regular implementation team meetings.
