Learn more about how to grow explicit instruction and formative assessment practice in your school, and help shape AERO’s evidence tools 

The Australian Education Research Organisation (AERO) is excited to offer new online professional development sessions for leading teachers and classroom teachers on supporting effective formative assessment and explicit instruction practice. 

You’ll learn more about leading the implementation of these key evidence-based practices in your school, and participate in research to improve our formative assessment and explicit instruction rubrics.  

Participating teachers will receive a $50 gift card* and a certificate that may be used for recognition of professional development hours. 

We have 2 types of sessions across 3 dates, please select the date that suits you

The session for leading teachers will focus on using AERO’s rubrics in schools to develop formative assessment and explicit instruction practice, including guidance on facilitating professional learning sessions.  

  • Thursday 18th May 4:00 – 5:30pm (AEST) 

The sessions for classroom teachers will focus on using AERO's rubrics to reflect on and develop individual formative assessment and explicit instruction practice. We have two dates available for this session type:

  • Tuesday 23rd May 6:00 – 7:30pm (AEST) 
  • Thursday 25th May 4:30 – 6:00pm (AEST)

Sessions will be held on Microsoft Teams. Limited places available. 

*For completing the full survey about our evidence tools at the start of the workshop (including uploading a sample from your teaching practice or answering a quiz). Two surveys are available, respondents can only be paid once for completing each survey.
